Thinking about moving to Fort Bend County? The city of Richmond is a wonderful place to raise a family. With access to an array of shops, dining and entertainment options, there’s more than enough to do without going very far. Not to mention, the city of Richmond itself hosts events and programs that are focused on bringing the community together.  

The City of Richmond will host its first Community Bingo Game night at Friends of North Richmond, 1305 Clay Street, on Thursday June 21st, beginning at 6 pm. This will be the first of an ongoing quarterly game night the City is hosting to bring the community together through the fun and camaraderie of game playing!

In addition to Bingo Game Nights, residents and members of the community can also stop by old Downtown Richmond once a week for some grub at Food Truck Fridays! The delicious gathering takes place at the Richmond Central Fire Station from 11 am to 2 pm.

Have you heard of the Keep Richmond Beautiful program? It focuses on organizing community volunteers and for improving the community environment through beautification, litter prevention, waste reduction, and educational programs that benefit the entire community.  A number of projects have been planned and completed both in the Historic District and the City’s gateways.  The KRB team and volunteers have created a new energy and focus that is spilling over throughout Richmond.  

Speaking of keeping Richmond beautiful — the city recently approved a Downtown Improvement Grant Program. The grant is designed to be a pilot program for enhancing the downtown area known for its unique and historic downtown. The program is designed to play on the area’s strength by beautifying the commercial buildings through encouraging productive uses for these one-of-a-kind buildings.
