Thanks to tremendous growth surrounding the Westpark Tollway and Grand Parkway, exciting new dining and entertainment options are now closer than ever. Among the 1.5 million square feet of new retail space planned for the area of the intersection of the Grand Parkway and West Airport Boulevard, the newest development is Trammell Crow Company’s announcement of an entertainment anchor, Flix Brewhouse, a dine-in cinema and microbrewery, due to open in summer 2019. 

At 38,750 square feet, Flix Brewhouse will offer nine auditoriums, luxury seating, sliding tabletops, in-theater service, adult beverages that include beers brewed on-site, a brewpub restaurant and a patio, according to the release. The theater will also offer special events like brewmaster dinners, brewing and tasting seminars and other activities. 

By the end of 2019 and into early 2020, the entire area along the Grand Parkway, Harlem Road and Grand Mission Boulevard outside of Richmond’s city limits will be transformed due to four major commercial developments that will bring over 1.4 million square feet of retail space to the area.

Construction along the Grand Parkway leading to these new developments is a familiar pattern to Mike Stone, Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority’s chief operating officer.

“Just in the last 10-12 years since we opened the Westpark Tollway, that whole area has just exploded in growth,” Stone said. “The same thing is happening along the Grand Parkway … good access … [makes it a]very attractive property for the developers.”
