Lakes of Bella Terra is surrounded by an exciting mix of amenities, great restaurants, entertainment venues, shopping and festivities. In fact, one of the largest and most successful Fairs in the State, the Fort Bend County fair, is located straight down the road from Lakes of Bella Terra. Residents of the county eagerly anticipate visiting with friends and neighbors at some of the many activities the Fair and Rodeo has to offer during its 10 day run
The Fort Bend County Fair kicks off this week and will last until October 7th, according to a recent article by Community Impact:
The 82nd annual Fort Bend County Fair kicked off this week and will last until Oct. 7 at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds, 4310 Hwy. 36 S., Rosenberg. This iconic event features a big-name entertainment lineup, nightly rodeo events, a wine room experience, carnival fun and fair food staples.
“We are proud to be able to offer all the activities and events the fair has to offer for our community,” said James Duke, 2018 Fort Bend County Fair president, in a release. “It is a tradition for so many families to enjoy, and we welcome all the newcomers to come out and create new memories here at our fair. The fair experience is like no other—whether you are a livestock show kid, a professional cowboy or cowgirl, or just someone looking for a fun outing for the family, our fair has something for everyone to enjoy.”
Over the course of the next few weeks, a new Fair Queen will be crowned, and livestock champions will be selected. Teams will compete in a barbecue contest, and lawn tractor races will commence during this year’s event, according to the release.
Over 50 committees made up of 1,300-plus volunteers work to organize and operate the fair. In 2017, $180,000 worth of scholarships were awarded to 45 students representing schools and districts throughout the county. The scholarships are a result of money raised by the Fort Bend County Fair Association and its various committees’ fundraising efforts and individual sponsors, according to the release.
