As the Grand Parkway paved the way for growth in Fort Bend County, the expansion of the Westpark Tollway is on the way to doing the same. Westpark Tollway creates an east-west corridor to Houston’s major commerce centers with access to Greater Houston’s financial districts, SH 6, the Sam Houston Tollway/Beltway 8, US 59, and the Galleria.

As a result of this growth and continued expansion of Westpark Tollway, new businesses and developments are coming to the area. Some of the latest include:

-- The Shoppes at Cinco Ranch are welcoming several new tenants: Thor Equities, Salata (a salad bar restaurant), Lowe's, Supper Yummy Mongolian Stir-Fry and Sushi, and Bambu (Vietnamese inspired Che, coffee, tea, smoothies). You can reach the Shoppes at Cinco Ranch via the Westpark Tollway. Spring Green Boulevard runs through the center of the Shoppes.

-- Mason Creek Business Center was recently acquired by Hillwood, a Perot company. This property is at the intersection of Mason Road and Park Row Drive and is easily accessible to Westpark Tollway.

-- The city of Katy plans to develop a "Boardwalk District" near Katy Mills Mall. The area will include a hotel and convention center, living units, retail and restaurant facilities, public plaza, and nature park.

-- The Shops at Katy Reserve are currently developing more retail opportunities to join 24 Fitness and Kroger Marketplace.

-- Crust Pizza and MedSpring Urgent Care are opening in Stableside at Falcon Landing. This facility is anchored by Kroger.

-- The Westchase District Trail System is undergoing an expansion. The new Brays Bayou Connector Trail will connect Richmond Avenue to Bellaire Boulevard and end at Arthur Store Park. The 2.92-mile trail includes underpasses at Richmond, Westpark Tollway, and Bellaire. Users will now be able to enjoy the trail and stay completely off the roads. The trail system is popular with runners, walkers, and cyclists.
