Nov. 18: Pecan Harvest Festival of Richmond
The Pecan Harvest Festival is a family friendly event which uniquely introduces Richmond’s charm including Historic Downtown merchants, as experienced by more than 5,000 in attendance last year! The festival’s beloved Kidz Zone will be nestled in historic Decker Park while live music entertains all day from Wessendorff Park’s acoustically designed Gazebo.
Festival attendees can stroll along the newly completed trails from Second St. around historic Morton Cemetery at edge of Wessendorff Park. An old-fashioned hayride will expose riders to the Historic District of Richmond, while the Festival features Artisan Vendors, Farmers Market, a Beer & Wine Garden, a Baking Contest, and a Classic Car Show.
Nov 30: Richmond’s Tree Lighting Ceremony in City Hall Park
Come to City Hall Park Plaza, from 6- 7 pm, to experience the Spirit of the Holidays when the 'switch is flipped' to turn on the Holiday tree lights located in the City Hall Park Plaza! The tree will be decorated and adorned with lights in preparation for the 'turning on of the lights' about 6:15 pm! The Fire Department's antique fire truck will also be decorated and next to the tree, providing the setting for old fashioned pictures.
Faith United Methodist Church Hand Bell choir will be on site providing holiday music and cookies and wassail will complete the experience as all are welcome to enjoy the music and take pictures at the tree or Fire truck! We welcome you to join!
Dec 1st: Richmond’s Miracle on Morton Street
Historic Richmond Association invites you to our 16th Annual Miracle on Morton Street on Saturday, December 1, 2018. We will have a day filled with family-friendly activities throughout the day from 10am till 5pm. We personally invite you to join us as we embark on a fun, holiday event in downtown Richmond.
Live entertainment, ranging from schools to local artists, will be participating at our street celebration. Don’t miss out on supporting our local schools and talent at Miracle on Morton Street this year!
Dec 3rd: Giant Menorah Lighting Celebration
Come celebrate Chanukah and the lighting of the giant menorah with Chabad of Sugar Land! There will be a greeting by dignitaries, arts and crafts for children, Israeli food, performances, music and dancing.
Dec. 7th: Snowfest Festival in Missouri City
This event will feature entertainment, a tree lighting, commencement ceremony, a three lane snow hill and an opportunity to take a photo with Santa Claus. 5:30-9 p.m. Free (admission).
Pre-festival entertainment will kick off the event at 5:30 pm and will follow with the tree lighting ceremony and fireworks! From 6-9 pm, guests are invited to enjoy the array of event activities including the 3-lane snow hill & photos with Santa! To support area families in need this holiday season, the Missouri City Police Department will be onsite to collect unwrapped toys for the annual Blue Santa Toy Drive. All donations can be dropped off by the Christmas tree.
Dec 8th: Campfire Christmas at George Ranch Historical Park
Journey back into time to Christmases past with this one-of-a-kind immersive holiday experience! Start your evening with a merry greeting at the Visitor Center and hot chocolate and coffee to warm your soul. Then, enjoy a classic holiday meal featuring scrumptious recipes from Christmases gone by. After dinner, take a turn on the dance floor to the music of the ever-popular Pat Gavin and the Buckaroo Band. Finally, hop on our time-traveling tram for a journey through time.
