Another great event bringing the community together!
Fort Bend County Fair reminds us we are deep into Fall. And right behind that comes Winter, which typically begins after Thanksgiving along the Gulf Coast. Because some in our community don’t have the necessities to battle the winter temperatures, the City of Richmond is launching the Annual Share The Warmth program across the month of October, beginning the week of October 8th through November 1st, 2018 with distribution of items in November, before temperatures drop.
Share The Warmth- a community wide program for the City of Richmond - began in 2015 to give neighbors the opportunity to help neighbors in need, by donating blankets, warm socks and coats at various City locations. This year, the City is setting up drop locations at City Hall, 402 Morton St; the City Annex bldg, 600 Morton St.; the Central Fire Station, 200 Houston St., and Police Department at 600 Preston St.
As well, this year, citizens can donate at First Baptist Church of Richmond, 502 South 5th Street ; Calvary Episcopal Church of Richmond, 806 Thompsons Rd; and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 507 S. 4th St..
The City is working with area churches and service organizations to determine who is most in need of these items. If you know an elderly or disabled individual in the Richmond community, please contact us:
