Young residents of Lakes of Bella Terra are zoned for high-achieving schools in Lamar CISD. According to the 2016 state accountability ratings released by the Texas Education Agency, Foster High School, Briscoe Junior High and Joe Hubenak Elementary each scored higher than the targeted score for every index evaluated.
The 2016 ratings are based on a system that uses a range of indicators to provide greater detail about the performance of a district or charter and individual campuses throughout the state. In addition to the ratings, distinction designations were awarded to campuses based on achievement on performance indicators compared to a group of 40 campuses of similar type, size and student demographics.
This year Foster High School earned a distinction in the area of closing performance gaps for meeting the needs of identified lower performing student groups based on last year’s testing results. Briscoe Junior High is celebrating three distinctions in math, performance gap and post-secondary readiness. Hubenak Elementary has earned a distinction in student progress and closing performance gap.
The two new schools that recently opened in Lamar CISD, Fulshear High School and Leaman Junior High will be evaluated on the next accountability ratings.
