What People on Forums Say About Lakes of Bella Terra

Nothing says more about a community than what the people who live there have to share. We stumbled on a few things said regarding the schools, homes, location and sense of community in Lakes of Bella Terra while researching local city-data forums. Here are some of the highlights!

“I am still rather torn between Cross Creek Ranch and Lakes of Bella Terra but the proximity of Lakes of Bella Terra to Grand Parkway and the toll portion of West Park Tollroad give(s) it an edge up”

“We have lived in Lakes of Bella Terra since 2009, purchasing one of the first homes built on our street. We actually chose Lakes of Bella Terra over Cross Creek Ranch because of the location. We have genuinely enjoyed living in this community. Our neighbors are wonderful, the community is very attractive and laid out well. It has certainly grown since those first days in 2009, and seems to be expanding especially fast in the last 6 months. The amenities are great, and the proximity to shops and restaurants are fantastic. Our location to Grand Parkway and Westpark Tollway is especially convenient. Our daughter goes to Hubenak Elementary inside the subdivision and has done extremely well. Our family has found Lakes of Bella Terra to be a perfect fit overall.”

“The neighborhoods along the Grand Parkway are going to be much more convenient to shopping, restaurants, medical, etc. than something out much further like Cross Creek Ranch.”

“People will immediately try to sell you on the principle that Katy/Cinco Ranch schools are far superior than the Lamar Consolidated ISD that Bella Terra is zoned to, but they are speaking out of ignorance. Bella Terra is zoned to probably the best or tied for the best high school in the district (Foster HS) that I would bet could go toe-to-toe academically against most Katy/Fort Bend schools. I also personally like the smaller 4A size of their high schools (enrollment roughly 2000 students) versus the mega 5A high schools you find in Katy/FBISD. I'm not trying to knock Katy/FBISD schools - I respect both and if I didn't care about enrollment sizes / taxes / home prices, I'd just as likely send my (eventual) kids there.”

“The school district for Bella Terra is Lamar CISD. It is a great school district and Bella Terra is zoned to it's top schools. We dont have kids yet, but my wife works at the elementary school and has had nothing but good things to say about how the school is run.”

“As for community/neighbors, so far everyone I have met over the past two years of living there has been very nice. On our street for instance, everyone knows each other and we have several block parties every year. Several of our neighbors take turns hosting a monthly game night. There are a ton of young families with infants and toddlers in the neighborhood, so you will see quite a few youngsters outside playing when the weather is nice.”

“I second the thumbs up for LCISD. My wife and I (and our sibilings) grew up in the district since 1993 - she also teaches in the district at one of the high schools. One of the main reasons we picked Bella Terra was because it was zoned for LCISD.”

“Along with what the poster above mentioned, the community has a few planned family events, usually held at the Rec Center, throughout the year, around the holidays (4th of July, Halloween, Christmas are the ones I can think of off the top of my head). A running group has recently been formed; I've seen organized youth soccer practicing at the neighborhood soccer field; a good friend of ours is looking at starting a community swim team this summer; I see families out walking every evening, kids riding bikes down the street - all in all, just a family-oriented neighborhood.”
