2019 TEA Ratings Released: Lamar CISD Schools Shine Bright

 Lamar CISD received an A for its work during the 2018-19 school year by The Texas Education Agency with 33,347 students and 39 campuses. Of those 39 schools, our 3 local campuses were amongst some of the highest scores. Congratulations to our young residents on their success!

Hubenak Elementary: Met Standard 95/100

Hubenak Elementary received an overall rating of 95/100. Schools earn a Met Standard rating for acceptable performance when they serve many students well. The overall grade is based on performance in three different areas, 93/100 for student achievement, 91/100 for school progress and 100/100 for closing the gaps. Hubenak Elementary also earned a distinction designations in every category available! This includes: Academic Achievement in Science, Mathematics and Language Arts along with Academic Growth and Post Secondary Readiness. Way to go!

Leaman Junior High School: Met Standard 88/100

The newly opened Leaman Junior High School received an impressive overall rating of 88/100. Schools earn a Met Standard rating for acceptable performance when they serve many students well. The overall grade is based on performance in three different areas, 91/100 for student achievement, 79/100 for school progress and 80/100 for closing the gaps.

Fulshear High School: Met Standard 93/100

Fulshear High School also received an impressive overall rating of 93/100. Schools earn a Met Standard rating for acceptable performance when they serve many students well. The overall grade is based on performance in three different areas, 92/100 for student achievement, 84/100 for school progress and 96/100 for closing the gaps. Flusher High School also earned a distinction designations in 5 out of 7 categories available! This includes Academic Achievement in Social Studies and Language Arts along with Academic Growth, Post Secondary Readiness and Closing the Gaps.

Overall grades for schools are calculated based on performance in three key areas. TEA takes the higher score between how much students know and can do (Student Achievement) or how much better students are doing than last year or than peers in similar schools (School Progress). They then consider whether performance gaps exist among different groups of students (Closing the Gaps).
