Exciting New Projects Happening in Fort Bend

Wouldn’t it be nice to be surrounded by an exciting mix of shops, trendy restaurants and things to do? Well that’s what you get when you buy a new home in Lakes of Bella Terra West. Not only do we have the historic charm of Downtown Richmond, but we also have an array of vibrant new developments happening in the area.

University Commons

A trendy new shopping center recently opened 13 miles from the Lakes of Bella Terra. According to a recent article by Houston Food Finder, University Commons boasts a flurry of new restaurants and drink shops in Sugar Land. The project is a 108,000-square-foot facility that features new eateries of both the fast-casual and sit-down nature. A few names including Kula Revolving Sushi Bar, CoCo Crêpes, NOLA Poboys and 85°C Bakery Café.

Messina Hof Winery

According to a recent article by KHOU, the largest winery in the Houston Area is joining a line-up of craft breweries and family-owned restaurants. It will feature a vineyard with a tasting room and farm to table restaurant. It’s not the only winery in Richmond, as it’s already home to one with another on the way. Richmond is also home to a couple of craft breweries and has some residents hoping Richmond could become a mini version of Fredericksburg. The first to open was Braman Winery and Brewery located off FM 359.

Katy Boardwalk District

The Katy Boardwalk District announced plans for a new entertainment, community and culture hub at Kingsland Boulevard and Katy Fort Bend Road just south of I-10. The lakefront destination will also host the city's "first full-service conference center hotel, first-to-market entertainment concepts, luxury loft residences and an impressive 90-acre nature preserve showcasing the region’s native trees, flora and wildlife.”

District West

A new luxury shopping center, District-West, is opened just 3 miles down the road next to the Westpark Tollway. All in all, District West will contain roughly 500,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, office, health care and hospitality developments. Restaurants include Luna Y Sol and Los Cucos Mexican Café, along with a 12-screen Star Cinema Grill. Not to mention, the 15,000-square-foot Whiskey River, a country dance hall and grill.
