We’re proud to be in the heart of a school district that strives for the best. Not only has Lamar CISD been recognized for academic success, including earning an overall grade of “A” by the Texas Education Agency for the 2018-19 school year, but it’s also at the top of the list for 2020 Best School Districts for Athletes in Texas by Niche Rankings. Out of 1,003 Texas school districts, Lamar CISD is ranked #34 when it comes to excelling at sports!
The ranking is based on student and parent reviews of athletics, number of state championships, student participation in athletics and the number of sports offered at the school. And statistics obtained for the study from the U.S. Department of Education represent the most recent data available, as self-reported by the schools. Click here for the list.

We love that schools in Lamar CISD are designed with smaller enrollments (high schools are capped at 2,000 students) to provide more opportunities for students.
